How will Fort McMurray Charities and Organizations Benefit?
Diversified Transportation estimates that during the AJHL season, the Oil Barons Hockey Club will be the catalyst in generating over $22,000 for Fort McMurray Charities.
What are Charity Requirements and how does a Charity or Community Service Organization Apply for Funds?
The purpose of this initiative is to provide many groups with funds. We anticipate that groups will come from a variety of sectors and categories; children, seniors, disadvantaged, special needs and many others.
- Charities must be local, organized and in good standing.
- Charities will be requested to provide written request. There is no Application Form.
- Charities are required to provide an overview of their community work, details of the organization, years of service in Fort McMurray, a brief history or the organization, type of community work currently undertaken and description of services.
- Organizations are required to provide a list of their current Board of Directors.
- The submission request should be reasonable, the objective specific, and the submission must outline the benefits to the recipients.
- Funding requests should also be reasonable. Charities should realize and appreciate that our community is made up of many charitable groups and organizations that will also seek funds. In the spirit of community "sharing funds" is an important ingredient.
